WeatherTech Custom Fit Front FloorLiner for Subaru Impreza (Black) Review

We just got these to replace the front factory rubber mats in our 2006 Impreza because they would always slide out of position, especially on the driver side, which is bad. Put the Weathertechs in and they look great and fit mostly well. The driver side mat has a hole in one corner for a floor hook, which our car already happened to have, even though the rubber mat couldn't use it, so that was really cool to know it'll be extra secure. The mat (or liner) conforms pretty well to the car, except on the driver side is not completely flat underneath the pedals, which is a slight concern.

Only giving 4 out of 5 stars due to the driver side mat not laying flat underneath the pedals and because Weathertech floor mats could be more fairly priced -- but they *are* Made in the USA, so we'll let it side as long as they prove to be durable.

Despite Amazon incorrectly showing the rear mat, the part number in this listing is correct for the front two Weathertech floor mats.

Two sets of mats, one in a Lexus and one in a Toyota. Both from the same overall company. The driver's side wore out on both sets. For the Lexus, we had to replace all four, to replace one. That gets costly. When the Prius had the same problem with the driver's side, I went searching for options. These were a good find, since they only require you to purchase a set of two, instead of the two rear ones (which never seem to wear out much). They fit perfect in our Prius, and saved money over the dealer replacement.

I think that for a sound deadening material like this to work, you would need to install a lot of it if the goal is to make a noticeable difference in noise levels inside a car. Just adding it to exposed trunk panels which I thought might be the source of excessive road noise didn't seem to make any difference at all. Perhaps the real point is that reducing annoying sound levels requires expertise far beyond mine. I suppose that isn't the fault of the product, but it is a matter of expectations not being met. A professional who knows what they are doing would probably need a whole lot of this material installed in the right places to make a difference.
