VMS Racing Shift Knobs are threaded to Manufacturer Standards and tolerance for Easy Installation. There is NO need for drilling or tapping. The Thread of this Shift Knob is 10x1.25mm and will Fit Other Brands of Vehicle that have the same Shift Knob Thread and shifting pattern. All Shift Knobs come with their own unique locking nut for purposes of perfect alignment. The locking nut is threaded first into the shifter. The Shift knob is then threaded into the shifter. 10x1.25mm Thread 6 speed JDM Round Ball Shift Knob in Gunmetal Grey Gray Silver Billet Aluminum for Nissan Sentra SER Spec V Review

One piece billet aluminum, nicely engraved (not just print) gear map, and roughly the same weight as the stock shift-knob in my '06 Spec-V, this shift knob at its price point gets the job done while not interfering with the lockout ring mechanism. The only downside is that during summer time, the knob will get pretty warm.

Installation was easy, the locking nut helps line the gear map. Unless you intend using a tool and don't mind scuffing either the knob or locking nut, I strongly suggest using a shop towel/chamois to avoid tool scuff, and to hold the locking nut in place while hand tightening the shift knob. The locking nut is not metal/aluminum, but plastic, so be mindful of that when using a clamp or locks.

Appearance wise, the knob is attractive and unassuming. If you are an aftermarket junkie that likes to flaunt accessories, this knob might be too quiet, but my main motivation in getting this knob was the price. Other shift knobs for Spec-Vs were pushing the $80-$150 range and while the workmanship seemingly put into those may warrant such a price, this knob gets the job done and looks good doing it at quarter the cost.
