I own an 8-gig mini ipod. I also have an audio hookup installed in my truck so I can listen to the ipod. My goal in buying this item was so that I could easily view and access my ipod.

I purchased a black Type S Universal Holder from a local retailer a few months ago for about $8. The reason I chose this one was not only because I couldn't find anything else inexpensive to mount my ipod, but also of its size and features. When you purchase this item, the package comes with a back mount click, double stick tape, and the holder. Once you figure out a convenient location to install this holder, you will place the double stick tape on the back of the clip that is used to hold the holder in place. The clip also allows for easy removal of the holder. However, the clip is permanently mounted with the double stick tape, so install it in a place you really will use it. I simply put my ipod in the holder and sat in my truck to find a convenient location to install the clip. You also don't want to install the holder where it will impair your driving.

Once the clip was installed, I placed my ipod into the holder and adjusted the flex arms so that the ipod would stay in place and not move. Adjusting the flex arms is pretty simple because they are flexible to move around your item. Once the ipod was adjusted to fit in the holder, there is a bracket on the back of the holder that easily slips into the clip you've already mounted on your vehicle. The bracket is also adjustable with a could screws on either side to adjust the firmness of the way the holder will sit into the clip. Once in the clip, the holder can be raised up or down to view. Like I said previously, there are screws on the sides of the holder that allow you to adjust firmly the way you want to view the device in the holder, but not necessary to tighten them either.

Now that I have my ipod placed into the holder, I can easily remove it by unflexing the flex arms. I can also see my ipod songs and videos while driving. The nice thing about this holder is also that it can hold some of the smaller cell phones. I recently purchased a G'z One Boulder for my Verizon Wireless service. This cell phone has GPS capabilities which I subscribe to. Now that I have a convenient holder for the phone, I can easily install my cell phone into the holder using the flex arms. Now I can easily listen to the voice on my cell phone to track where I need to go with the GPS system. I can also use many of the other features on the phone, like making phone calls via the voice activated service, or simply leave the phone in for use with my bluetooth headset.

Overall, the holder is a great item to purchase for a small device like the mini ipods or any smaller cell phone. It easily clips to your dash or even mounts to an air vent. I would definitely recommend this one. I am going to purchase another for the cell phone I recently purchased for my wife too, that's why I'm back up here.
